The festival Urban Plagne was held the week of the 9th of April with the aid of Picture. This festival unites pro rider teams with the world of cinema. During the week teams, composed of riders and those who specialize in movies, had the challenge of making a “short” including tricks and a theme that was predetermined from a choice of “Treason” “Chance” and “one of seven deadly sins”. These themes were chosen by the president of the judges panel – Regis Wargnier, who received an Oscar for his film “Indochine”.

The teams had only 3 nights and 4 days to film their scenes and action shots, and to put together their film. An enormous undertaking when you understand the amount of effort required to produce work of such a high standard. This did not, by any means, undermine the quality of the tricks, craziness or originality of the videos.

The week rounded off beautifully with an awards evening in Belle Plagne with idyllic fresh powder. Francois Durton offered a wine tasting session. There was the opportunity to celebrate the victory of the winning team, “Tested Phantera”, composed of the brothers Collet (part of the Picture family), Julian Eustace and Jules Bonnaire with the film “Life Expectancy”, which was directed by Laurent Jamet, and his assistant Thibaud Ader.
